Our Founder Colin Wright saw emerging technologies as an opportunity to deliver significant value to a range of small and medium-sized businesses in a virtual capacity. Technical advances in cloud-based management systems, and a move toward outsourcing key finance functions, enabled us to serve SMEs with CFO virtual services.

Colin has been working since 1994 in the financial management of SME businesses, holding shareholdings and Directorships in several companies. His passion for SMEs inspired him to establish the 3S CFO Group and later The Virtual CFO Group Australia, to help SME business owners better manage their performance and achieve their goals. Colin is a pioneer, always learning, evolving, and sharing his knowledge with clients, staff, and aspiring finance professionals. His dedication continues to drive positive outcomes for businesses across various industries.

Matthew joined Colin as a partner in the Virtual CFO Group at the end of 2023. Originally from South Africa, he has lived and worked in Australia since 2019. Matthew is a CIMA, CGMA, and CPA with 14 years of experience in business partnering and other senior finance and management roles. Before discovering his passion for serving SMEs as a virtual CFO, he honed his skills in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, and other industries. Matthew is dedicated to helping SME business owners succeed and values the opportunity to be part of their journey.

Karen is a senior bookkeeper with over 20 years of experience and counting and possesses extensive expertise in accounting principles, payroll, and bookkeeping.
